AlignLife’s proven operational systems are only as good as the franchise owners and staffs utilizing them, which is why a thorough initial training program is complemented by ongoing and evolving training that encompasses back-end business operations, staff training and retention, business development and more.

“As an AlignLife doctor, everything we do supports what you should be focusing on, which is providing excellent clinical care to your patients,” says Dr. Joe Clarino, director of training and development. “That’s why training and development at AlignLife are not static. Health care is evolving, chiropractic as a treatment methodology is certainly evolving, and so we work every day to keep up with – if not stay ahead of – the curve. I took this position with AlignLife because I know what I have gone through in my decades of practice, and I wanted to help other doctors get from there to here without going through all those struggles and hitting all those potholes.”

New doctor training builds confidence from the ground up

AlignLife training has been designed to meet the practitioner wherever he or she is on the professional journey. When Dr. Clarino and his team are working with a new doctor, for instance, it’s important to help ease that person not just into the AlignLife system, but also into the role of owning a business in general.

“New doctor training is exciting because there’s no fingerprint yet,” he explains. “There’s no impression. The doctor is transitioning from a student to a community leader, and our job is to make sure that they can effectively learn our procedures, policies and systems to create their dream practice.”

Our training includes onsite as well as virtual education — so you can get the education you need in the methods that serves you best. And as the doctors grow their practices, new modules come into play so that their managerial and operational expertise expands alongside their professional development.

This training comes in four phases:

Phase One:
The first series of virtual training to gain competency in operations and business management
Phase Two:
Engaging, on-site training to master the operations and business management of an AlignLife clinic
Phase Three:
Round two of virtual training to gain competency in the marketing and the attraction of new patients
Phase Four:
A second on-site practicum to master the procedures and the communications involved in marketing and new patient generation

“It’s our job as trainers and coaches to figure out what works and what doesn’t in terms of learning how to run an AlignLife center,” says Dr. Joe Clarino, director of training and development. “We want to help you grow your practice while we help you grow as an individual. We look at a doctor’s experience, their talents, and their goals, and then we create the path forward that works well for the doctor and his/her team.”

Creating an adaptable system for the experienced professional

A chiropractor who’s bringing an existing clinic into the AlignLife family has a different set of needs and expectations, Dr. Clarino says, and so training and development has been created with that in mind.

“Over time, a chiropractor running their own practice has become accustomed to wearing many hats. Marketer, bookkeeper, manager, doctor … you name it. What AlignLife does, Dr. Clarino says, is take a lot of that weight off of you so that you can be more successful at growing your business and mastering your patient care.

“The advantage of our team is that we have over a hundreds years collectively in the chiropractic profession so there is not much that we haven’t seen or cases we haven’t managed. We are also very passionate about helping doctors create harmony in their business and their personal lives. Work-life balance is a cliche’ because there is never a perfect balance but their can be harmony. We want doctors to not only build a successful practice but also enjoy their lives and their families.”
